Kairos Prison Ministry International operates on three levels, and it's no surprise that all of them need money. Nothing can happen without it.

The Kairos Illinois State Chapter Committee coordinates and encourages the work of the local prison chapters, called Advisory Councils, and interfaces with the state Department of Corrections. Resources given to the state chapter committee benefit every program in Illinois. The state chapter committee holds the Advisory Councils accountable for quality standards in program and in handling money. This is absolutely crucial work, for no Advisory Council is an island. If one council accidentally violated state laws or Department of Corrections regulations it would threaten the standing of every Kairos program in the state.

The local Advisory Councils recruit, train, raise funds and make "listen, listen, love, love" real - not just in prison but outside, not just on three-day weekends but every month. Each council is responsible for raising the money needed for program materials, required training for their leaders, housing for team members near the prison when a retreat is in progress, and much more. To support the Kairos Advisory Council of a specific prison or program, contact the person listed on that prison's page under Where We Serve.

The international office operates on a shoestring staff of 12 based in Winter Park, Florida (where it all began). KPMI provides the program, training, software tools and financial accountability standards for every state and international committee.
